Hello everyone,

Moving Asterisk to git has been talked about for some time now.
However, before doing that we thought it might be easier to move the
Asterisk test suite over first.

The current plan is to keep everything as is, as far as the structure
and layout of the test suite, within a single git repository. This
should make the migration much simpler.

See the following for more information:

+Migration

Comments/thoughts always welcome and more information to come once we
begin the actual migration.

Thanks,

Agreed. Using branches for different parts of the test suite really isn't
a good solution because, as you pointed out, you'd be switching all over
the place. In the future you may want to look at branching that follows
Asterisk itself. Not sure whether this would make tracking which tests
apply to which version better or worse though.
